if you're uncertain about the relevant and important questions that you need to ask your wedding venue before you book by the end of this video you will be able to sign that dotted line this confidence equipped through six questions to ask your wedding venue before you sign at the dotted line for uncensored wedding planning advice to cut through the crap and get straight to the part of turning your weddings with ease subscribe to our channel and hit the notifications bar so you'll be informed every single Tuesday when we upload a new post as a fall wedding planner I have sauce venues for couples in the UK and abroad saving them time and avoidable surprises in the later stages of wedding planning now it's your turn question number one what dates do you have available and can I provisionally hold so if you've got your heart set on a specific dates you'll know from previous videos I don't recommend this what I would recommend is going with them on say I wouldn't get married in May and I want to get married on a Saturday May's that you can find out what Saturday's they have available alternatives close to your dates be really flexible here then find out if they provisionally hold dates if they provisionally hold dates provision you hold one or try be cheeky maybe get two and so that you know that you've got those dates are secured and you can think about looking at the other venues that you have within your heart list to find out whether or not they to have availability you then have a timeline of when you need to make a decision about your specific wedding dates and the next questions will help you to secure the one venue that meets your need the best lower two is the capacity the same if you want to have your ceremony in the same space that you're having the reception you need to check that the capacity for the space that they use for ceremonies is the same as the capacity that they have given you for your wedding reception sometimes you'll have a venue who you which you might have a capacity of 160 for the wedding reception that can only hold maybe 60 to 80 guests for the wedding ceremony and in some cases it can be even smaller so make sure that you ask that question before you booked so there are no surprises when you're sending out invitations or potentially going down the route of inviting too many guests for the amount that the venue can actually hold number three access times before you book your waiting venue make sure that you have clearly outlined access times you have for your wedding so the wedding venue has said to you that you will have availability to use their space from 12 o'clock until 11 p.m.
When all guests have to exit you even need to ask them what time will my suppliers be able to access the space now it may be that suppliers and vendors can access the space from 8 a.m. on the morning of the wedding giving them four hours to set up the waiting space you will then have from 12 o'clock to 11 o'clock to have all of your wedding whether that includes the ceremony the reception and evening guests everything that happens for your wedding day will happen within that allotted amount of time your suppliers and vendors will then maybe have two hours afterwards to leave the reason why you need to ask this question is because sometimes wedding venues give you this information as an all-inclusive package so it might be that some venues will say you've got the venue from 12:00 8:12 p.m.
Until 11:00 p.m. in the evening and within that time you also have to set up and clear out so you will then have to speak to your surprise of vendors to find out how long that takes for them it may be that you'll need two hours for all of your suppliers and vendors to set up the room and you'll also need another two hours at the end of the day so that will mean that your wedding can't start until 2 p.m. and wouldn't need to finish at 9 p.m. that will cut down the amount of time you have to actually celebrate your day considerably so make sure you get really clear on the time you have access to the space and when your vendors and suppliers need to be out of the space leave us a comment below if you have any questions about these questions or if you've used these questions and just want to let them know how amazing they were in helping you to sign a dotted line and book your wedding venue we'd love to hear your story number 4 what is included it is so super super important that you clarify this with your wedding venue for driver's faces sometimes all you're getting are four walls a ceiling and a floor so you need to ensure that you find that if there's an when tree list of what is included in the higher so that's all of the furniture and trimmings most venues will include things like chair high art tables a bar and if there's one fits into the venue and crockery and glassware but not all thing use do and this is something that you really need to make sure you do ask if you are using a dry hire space because it will vary considerably from venue to venue who will be my contact now this for me is one of the hands-down best questions that you need to ask is important to find out who that person is how long they've been in position and whether or not they will be the person on your wedding day also find out what the process will be or the handover process will be if they are not in position so if they decide to leave midway through your planning how all the handover happen so you can know what to expect and how this will work they should be reassuring you at this point and that person has been in position for years they love the job and this is their life calling they're not going anywhere obviously things happen people move on that they can pregnant they fall ill so there could be a case where that person won't be with you on your wedding day there's been so many different occasions and this is a big book there of mine there have been so different occasions where we have gone to a venue and they have had a wedding coordinator on-site and and we people to anyway because the client hasn't been 100% sure about this wedding coordinator and these are the reasons wedding coordinators are not wedding coordinators and I know where to get filed for this venue coordinators who are assigned specifically to wedding clients or who you are dealing with now these individuals can be an absolute godsend they know all of the rules and regulations of the venue they are going to hold you to the terms and conditions they're going to make sure that the space is available to you they're also going to bend over backwards in a lot of cases to support you so that your day is absolutely amazing not all the time and the problem that we find with venues if you have this as an add-on or as part of their team or give people this specific title is that they blur the lines between what an actual wedding coordinator is going to do for you and where their best interests lie what you to get a position where you rely on the person at the venue but they keep on changing high staff turnover within this role is absolutely ridiculous and so in some cases we've had couples who have had four or five different venue coordinators make sure that you find that you the best person is to contact and also find out who is their superior so who runs the department above them so that if there are any issues or hands keep changing over you've got a direct point of contact who has a categorical list of any of the additional items or allowances that you have negotiated before you book now that you've shortlisted your shortlist you can go ahead and book your site visit when you book your site visit you're going to try and decide based on location which fingers you're gonna see and if you can do them all within one weekend but no more than two in a day one in the morning and one in the afternoon so you don't get site visit venue overload which is definitely a real thing this is going to be amazing you're going to go to these venues and because of all of the processes that you've gone through to get here if you've watched all of our other videos it's going to be even more amazing for you and your cop and your partner now
