Yellow Gold vs Platinum | What Color Ring Setting Is Right For You? | 2ct vs 2.1ct Round Diamond

Can't decide if you want yellow gold or
platinum? Make sure you watch this video   where we show you both metals on hand side by side!   Hi Everyone! Welcome back to my channel, this
is Bonnie with By Bonnie Jewelry, where I talk   about all things diamonds! Okay, so in today's
episode I'm gonna be doing one of my viewers   favorite types of video, which is a comparison
video! So I'm gonna be showing you my signature   By Bonnie ring, in platinum and in two tone 18K
yellow gold with the platinum prongs…  So this is definitely one of my top seller ring
and this side we have a 2ct and this side   we have a 2.1ct So I can't wait to show
you all the details but I can't give it away… all the way just yet, make sure you like my video,
subscribe to my channel and follow me closely   on Instagram @bybonniejewelry First of all platinum
vs gold…you know…what's your opinion? what's better? I think it's honestly personal preference!
I love platinum because platinum doesn't change   color and with this type of look…I just you know…
love the heftiness of platinum and the purity   of platinum and then if you want the yellow gold
look…I like to do this with yellow gold with   platinum because…what the platinum prongs will
do is…it will help make the center stone whiter! So, I know even though you have a yellow band
but you should know that if you put a yellow   prong on a diamond it will reflect more yellow
onto the diamond! So that's why I love doing a   two-tone…either in platinum with yellow gold or
white gold with yellow gold…both combination will   work depending on the design! This is my Signature
6 prong claw and I'm…if you haven't seen the   making of this ring, I have it available! I've done
a video on 2.5ct and 2.2ct and this…   This time I'm gonna be showing you a 2.1ct and
a 2ct on a 2.2 millimeter bands…uh yeah so   let's dive right into the comparison! On this hand
we have a GIA certified G color VVS2 in clarity Ideal cut of course and on this hand we have a
2.1ct GIA certified also I color VS2 in clarity   Now, from afar visually it's very hard to tell
you know…what color your diamond is, unless you're   you have very trained eyes…so for those of
you who are shopping for a ring and you know when   you're looking online, you're like…"oh they all look
the same…" you know on the video…once you know if   you're gonna invest in a near colorless or
the higher end or the lower end…it really depends   on your preference! I feel like sometimes
a lot of this is just kind of a mind game…   Don't focus on the paper! That's what I would
recommend…focus on the actual diamond! Of course   we like to pick out the best ideal cuts but what I
do for my clients is also…I search for the better   VSs you know…if it's a VS2 you know…I try
to get my clients like the ones that have   inclusions, that are more in the less prominent
looking areas…like the center of the table   and so on and so forth…and of course when
you're you know…looking at diamonds unless you   compare different diamonds side by side…it's
really hard to tell which one sparkles better…right!  And so part of it is also the fire and the
sparkle of the diamond…they're both so beautiful!   So the center we have a GIA certified 2.1ct
round diamond and it is near colorless, so it's   I and it's VS2 in clarity and now for those of
you, who are considering going yellow gold…honestly   the metal does sometimes reflect on the stone…
so that's why we use platinum prongs here, so that you   know…it could help whiten the diamond, especially
if you going for like a colorless or   near colorless look, but you love the yellow metal…
that is what I would recommend! The band width   is about approximately 2.2 millimeter Center we
use our signature claw and it just makes this   ring super seamless! And we've got the 18K
yellow gold here…18K versus 14K…18K means 75% gold   and 14K means 57.5%…so the the 18K is gonna
give you a little bit more that stronger yellow   color okay…and it's beautiful! Thank you so much
