In this video we will do a side by side Marquise
Cut diamond size comparison on the finger or hand as well as give you different price
comparisons at each cut size. All along giving you different tips and tricks
to help you save on diamond shopping. Each Marquise Cut Size in this video is compared
to this 1 Carat Diamond on a hand with a size 6 finger. This 1 carat diamond at Kay Jewelers like
most Brick and Mortar jewelry stores is about $15900 and that is because it is very high
quality. Now also in this video we take those diamonds
and compare them to the exact same quality diamond from a website I will put in the description
below this video.
This one is $5260 so you'd save over $10600
from my link below this video. Lets Start with a .25 Carat Marquise Cut Diamond
on the finger. Normally people don't buy center stones this
small. But Marquise tend to look bigger than equal
carats of other cuts so some people will buy them this small for Marquise. I will compare Marquise with round and princess
cuts toward the end of this video. This is a .33 or 1/3 carat marquise engagement
ring on the hand. The down sides of Marquise Cut diamonds is
that they sparkle a little less than round cuts then again that is why they tend to be
less expensive than their round cut counterparts. Because of the length of the marquise cuts
you might guess this was a .5 Carat diamond But This is a .5 or 1/2 carat marquise Diamond
on the finger. If you bought this diamond from clicking on
my link below you'd save $4800. The big issue with special cuts like this
is they don't get official cut grades.
Cut grade is important to know because it
tells you the most about how much the diamond sparkles and if the diamond looks as big as
the carat suggests. Watch my other videos for more on this. Because Marquise Cut Diamonds tend to sparkle
less than round cut diamonds having a great cut is important to make sure the diamond
sparkles at its peak. If that is important to you I will also link
to a diamond website that gives an unofficial diamond cut grade as well. Because if you get a bad cut you could get
some shadows in the middle of the diamond that take away from the diamonds sparkle.
Next we jump to a 1.6 carat marquise diamond
on the finger. One of the reasons I like marquise cuts is
that they look quite bigger than equal carats of other diamond shapes. You feel like you get more for your money
that way. As you can see, sometimes from the website
below this video you can find a steal. Like here you'd save over $10,000 over Kays
and most brick and mortar jewelry stores. A 2.5 carat Marquise cut is huge. As with most rare cuts marquise diamonds don't
hide clarity and color flaws very well so consider a higher clarity and color when purchasing
a marquise diamond over lets say a round cut. People tend to think marquise center stones
go very nicely with more intricate band styles. And, I would agree. Here we have this ginormous 3.9 carat marquise
cut on the finger. All brick and mortar jewelry stores sell diamonds
at an inflated rate. It costs money to pay for their rent and their
salespeople which all inflate the cost of your diamond. My biggest tip when buying a diamond is to
have your significant other go diamond shopping at the mall with you or her best friend.
Then make note of the diamond specs that she
chose. After come back and buy the exact same quality
diamond from the link below this video and you'll save a ton of money or you can spend
the same amount of money that you would have spent at the other diamond store and get an
even bigger diamond. That will definitely impress her. Then just take that diamond back to the store
and have it set in their favorite band. Or you can buy a similar and less expensive
band from one of those websites I have linked to below.
In the comments, I will answer any of your
personal questions about diamonds you are thinking about buying or doubts about what
you should do when you buy a diamond. If you are looking to buy a diamond or even
if you switch to another device come back and buy the diamond by clicking on that link
