Wedding Ring Trends 2023: Top 5 Styles

hey guys my name is Dominic Flux I'm a custom
jewelry designer and today we are going to be   going over the top five trends of wedding
bands if you didn't already see it last   week we already did the engagement ring so
if you are curious about engagement rings   you can hop on over to that video uh but
today we're going to do a full breakdown   of the styles that we're expecting to see
in 2023. this year is gonna be a fun year   because we are going to be seeing a shift
in changes so let's just jump right into it so number one we have eternity bands I think this
is definitely a favorites we get a lot of Eternity   requests the one thing that I would say is most
people like the pave style of Eternity what that   is it's a style of setting that's basically made
to be able to see the most amount of diamond and   the less amount of gold it's kind of that very
ultra skinny aesthetic I think that we might   slowly start to fade out of that and see larger
sizes which we're going to cover in a second but   I think the one thing that's very important
when you're going to be doing an eternity is   make sure that it's going to be the same style
of prong as the engagement ring so if you have   an engagement ring that has you know Diamond pave
and then for the wedding band you're going to be   choosing bright cut it's going to look strikingly
different it's not going to look good um so do   make sure that if that's the style that you want
to stick with the same another thing that people   don't always realize is that an eternity band
can look very different depending on the style   that you choose you know you can have three rows
you can have two rows with what we call a knife   edge in the center so these are all different
types of Eternity bands that you can have the second one that we see is thicker bands so
this was actually also relevant in engagement   rings as well and the reason why is because
thicker cigar brands are coming into the market   and they can be paired with engagement ring but
they can also be worn solo so we'll also see them   you know with actual diamonds you can have them
a little bit more decked out if you want to have   you know very ornate thicker bands that's also an
option when you're choosing a cigar band if you   want a simple gold band make sure that it is um
comfort fit because it's going to be a lot more   comfortable when you're going to be wearing it
and I think this is actually just a really cool   style because you know it shies away from that
Ultra feminine look and it has like a little   bit more of a masculine kind of everyday wear
feel to it which I think is really nice it's a   little bit refreshing than like the very dainty
stuff we've been seeing over the last 10 years   um and it also just makes me think of
David from shit's creek so I don't know   if you watch it but I really like that show okay now we figure we're going to say twisted so twist
the shanks I don't know if people don't really   talk about it but it is ordered quite often it
has a very feminine look to it and it's also a   design that it can be you know as simple as
you want just the The Twist of the band they   can also be as decked out as you want so you
know we'll have clients who want uh simple gold   with diamonds along one twist or even
diamonds along both twists you can have   yellow gold mixed with white gold so there
are a few variations that you can have even   though the base design is quite simple and
honestly it's a sign that I feel like you   can't go wrong with it's gonna pair very
well you know with the classic solitaire number four we have stacking Rings because more
is more and less is a board stacking wings are   fun because you know it's a very playful way
of having multiple bands also creating multiple   Styles you know you can have a simple pave mixed
with um you know bright Cuts mixed with bezel   settings and just having multiple pieces layered
and it looks really good because normally like I   mentioned in the first option with that you
can't mix you know styles of pave I'm not a   huge fan of mixing Metals either you know if you
had like just one white gold wedding band and then   a white gold yellow gold engagement ring sees me
that's going to look a little bit weird but when   you're having stacking Rings the fact that you
have multiple it actually starts to look okay   the fact that you have you know white gold yellow
gold gold all kind of like mixed together it flows   a little bit better so yeah it's a really fun
way to add multiple styles of rings all in one   I also like it because you can add on the ring
for every anniversary you know birthday gifts uh   anything any kind of memorable moment let's say
a graduation or you know the birthday a child   you can kind of stack on another ring and every
single one has a special little meaning to it number five we have extra thick paternity bands
so unlike number one where they're a lot like   kind of like ding tier a little bit sleeker larger
Trinity bands have really started to come back in   uh for engagement rings and I really really like
it because it has a much more bold and a much more   imposing look to it I think we've actually been
able to attain this aesthetic because of loud   diamonds coming into the market um you know doing
it with natural diamonds every stone being let's   say a 50 pointer is going to cost a lot higher
than if you're doing it with lab and I think that   it has just made it so much more accessible that's
why we're really starting to see it one thing you   must know anytime you're doing an eternity ring or
even these thicker ones especially you really want   to make sure that you you never go over three
quarters because what ends up happening is if   you do like a full eternity with the diamonds all
the way around when we're designing in 3D for you   we are actually calibrating specifically every
single Diamond so that they fit perfectly and   so if you need to resize your ring at any point
we're basically going to cut into the metal add   metal remove metal you know depending on sizing up
or down and getting the diamonds to fit perfectly   it's hard and so there might always be a
little bit of discrepancy or you know if   the diamonds need to fall flush at a certain
point well then the ring might be a little bit   too tighter a little bit too loose but we have
to do it because the diamonds need to you know   flow perfectly so that is why I always recommend
stop at three quarters you know most women during   their pregnancies they put on a little bit of
baby weight then they lose the baby weight so   we're sizing up sizing down keep your life simple
it'll be less expensive do three quarters I'd love   to know which ones are your favorites um mine is
probably definitely the thicker band I think that   ultimately when you're going to be designing
your wedding band you know you can always ask   us for our opinion we will always design it
in 3D for you uh before we actually make it   so you'll be able to see what it looks like side
by side your engagement ring and if you want to   go that way or finally choose a different path
so it's very easy you can always send this a DM   if you do want to make it with us and uh yeah
